If you’ve been following this event, you know the goal was to raise $100,000 dollars for insecticide treated bed nets to help eradicate malaria from Africa. Of course things don’t always go the way we planned, and our final total was a little different from our expectations. Still, the team wants to thank everyone who participated, everyone who donated, everyone who hosted along the way and everyone who prayed for a safe ride. Thanks so much!!!!!

So you still want to know the total, huh? Okay. Here it is…The Nothing But Sweat team raised a grand total of…
$156,144.00!!!!!!

After nearly 250 miles. Hundreds of people contacted and begged. After untold man hours of effort and quite a bit of complicated accounting we are proud to announce the grand total raised by the Nothing but Sweat bike riders.

Before we get to the announcement, we must give credit to our fearless leader for this journey (no, its not Morris Matthis, it was just his idea). A big thank you to Renee Teel

for her dedication to the details that made it possible for us to make it safely. She braved snow, rain, fire ants and dogs to make it happen for the team. What has been accomplished by our dedicated riders could not have happened without her.

Unfortunately I have been told to not announce the total at this time, but check back tomorrow afternoon for the big announcement!

The longest day is almost behind us as the first group made it to Burleson FUMC.

We are waiting for the rest of the riders and support staff (and finally the showers).

We made it to the lunch stop (New Beginnings UMC in Milford) and were greeted by the lovely ladies of the church. The spread had everything a tired bike rider needed to get back in the saddle. Many thanks to the members of the church for their hospitality!
